Job Title: Maintenance Engineer

As a key member of our team at M Group Services, you will play a vital role in supporting our business by visiting various properties throughout the day to undertake work on Smart Meters. This is a non-technical role, and you will use a hand-held device to carry out tasks, recording all details on a tablet to update records of new and existing customers.

Some of the activities you will be required to complete include:

  1. Re-communication processes on Gas and Electric Smart Meters - changing SIM cards, modems, and small gain aerials.
  2. Re-joining smart devices to the network while in contact with energy companies.
  3. Exchanging batteries on gas token meters.
  4. Installation of high gain aerials on the externals of properties using ladders.
  5. Completion of site surveys and other supporting work that requires a field-based engineer to visit properties.

You will be contracted to work 40 hours over Monday-Friday, with shifts between 08:00-20:00. Due to the nature of the work, successful applicants must pass a Colour sight deficiency test and hold a full UK driving license with no more than 6 points.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Flexibility to adapt working hours to meet customer/client requirements.
  2. Provide excellent customer service to meet the standards expected of M Group Services.
  3. Adhere to strict health & safety guidelines.
  4. Calling customers to advise time of arrival.
  5. Provide accurate information and data via tablet.
  6. Promote M Group Services image at all times.
  7. Be able to recognise health & safety risks and report accordingly.
  8. Carry out ad-hoc work as and when requested, such as carrying out surveys or verifying customer details.
  9. Achieve and exceed work performance targets and adhere to ISO 9002 procedures.
  10. Other duties may be undertaken as and when required, particularly when new business is gained.
What You'll Bring to the Role:
  1. Good geographical knowledge of local and surrounding areas.
  2. Ability to learn quickly and grasp new tasks/opportunities.
  3. Ability to use hand & 18v power tools.
  4. Experience of using handheld tools.
  5. Ability to lift, carry, and climb ladders, ensuring conformance to health and safety requirements.
  6. Self-motivated and organised, as this is a lone working role.
  7. Dedicated to the provision of excellent customer services.
