A prominent multi-disciplinary design and construction contractor is seeking a Proposals Engineer to assess and formulate proposals for their MCCs/Switchboards/Control Panel (LV) solutions. The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating, prioritizing, and delivering high-quality, competitive proposals while working closely with clients and engineering teams. The organization operates across various sectors including utilities, power, nuclear, chemical, pharmaceutical, energy, and food & beverage.

This position is based in Warrington with a hybrid working model, requiring 3 days in the office and 2 days working remotely, along with occasional travel to other locations as necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in the Proposals function for the department, collaborating with the sales team.
  • Analyze tender/enquiry documentation to make informed bid/no-bid decisions.
  • Work collaboratively to gather accurate information and quotations for proposals.
  • Draft precise and competitive proposal documents utilizing standard templates.
  • Ensure proposals undergo review and approval in accordance with authorization procedures.
  • Deliver clear proposals that safeguard the company's commercial and contractual interests.
  • Participate in project kick-off meetings to transition successful proposals to the execution team.
  • Coordinate site meetings to evaluate client requirements while adhering to health and safety standards.
  • Report significant commercial, technical, or contractual risks to senior management.
  • Implement continuous improvements to enhance the quality and efficiency of proposals.
  • Assist in developing tools for accurate cost and scope capture.
  • Maintain and update the Company Project Portal with follow-ups and competitive positions.

Key Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience in estimating electrical/control panels and MCCs.
  • Strong technical expertise in control systems, electrical/control panels, and MCCs.
  • Ability to connect with clients and comprehend their needs.
  • Competence in meeting client deadlines and estimating project costs.
  • Effective communication skills across all levels within the organization and with clients.
