About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cyber Security Professional to join our team at Walter Everett. As a PKI Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining the Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and their Key Management systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • PKI Solution Design and Implementation: Design, build, and operate PKI solutions and environments, ensuring robust cryptographic key security.
  • Certificate Authority Administration: Manage Certificate Authority Administration, including Certificate Enrolment Web Service and Policy Web Service, and monitor Active Directory Certificate Services (ADCS).
  • Key Management Systems (KMS): Manage KMS to ensure robust cryptographic key security, and support and manage the PKI, Certificate deployment / automation and Thales HSMs.
  • Certificate Management: Understand details of existing certificate use-cases and prepare onboarding roadmaps to the new PKI service, and work with Cyber vulnerability assessment teams to prioritise automated certificate management.
  • App Service Managed Certificates: Work with App Service managed certificates, private and public certificates.
Requirements
  • Deep Knowledge of Cyber Security: A deep knowledge and understanding of Information and/or Cyber Security, including cybersecurity principles and practices and an understanding of security frameworks e.g., NIST, ISO27001.
  • Communication Skills: Good written and verbal communication skills to liaise with stakeholders at varying levels of seniority across the business, and proficient in written and spoken English.
  • Additional Language Skills: Additional language skills will be an advantage.
  • PKI Systems and Services: Good understanding of PKI systems and services, ACME protocol, use of RESTful APIs, and hands-on experience with Certificate Authority Administration, ADCS monitoring, and related tasks.
  • Data-in-motion and Data-at-rest Encryption: Familiarity with Data-in-motion and Data-at-rest Encryption techniques.
  • PKI Machine Identity Technologies: Expertise in PKI machine identity technologies such as SSH, SSL, TLS.
  • Key Management Systems (KMS): Experience managing Key Management Systems (KMS) for cryptographic key security.
  • PKI and Certificate Deployment: PKI and Certificate deployment and automation, and Thales HSMs.
