Learning Mentor for Students with EHCPs

MidKent College is seeking a dedicated and passionate Learning Mentor to join our Enhance program, providing specialized support to students with Education Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
Our Enhance program offers a wraparound support system for students facing significant learning barriers. This five-day-a-week provision empowers them to access both the Progression Curriculum and mainstream college courses through personalized timetables, high support ratios, and specialized approaches like Speech and Language Therapy (SaLT), Occupational Therapy (OT), and Zones of Regulation.
As a Learning Mentor, you will play a vital role in fostering student independence, resilience, and employability skills. You will:
- Plan and deliver engaging workshops on essential life skills, including exam skills, social skills, study skills, and employability skills.
- Collaborate with the Additional Learning Support Team to create and implement extra-curricular activities tailored to meet individual student needs and EHCP outcomes.
- Work closely with students to assess their support requirements and develop bespoke learning plans that promote increasing independence.
