Job Overview

Band 5 Staff Nurse (Ear, Nose & Throat OPD)

We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic nurse to join our dynamic, patient-focused and friendly Ear, Nose and Throat Outpatient Department. Our team supports clinics across sites, with the majority of activity taking place at Townlands Hospital.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a variety of treatments and outpatient procedures, including caring for patients within Plastic Surgery.

Main Responsibilities

The post-holder will be responsible for undertaking and recording comprehensive nursing assessment and planning, delivering and evaluating high standards of evidenced-based nursing care to a diverse group of patients.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering care without direct supervision and being accountable for the care delivered and any omissions of care.
  • Teaching and supervising more junior staff, students and the non-registered nursing workforce.
  • Being accountable for care or any omissions of care that are delegated to others.
  • Acting as a role model, delivering care with empathy and compassion as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Registered Nurse – part 1
  • Current NMC registration
  • Evidence of recent continuous professional development

Experience in an acute clinical environment is essential, with experience in speciality being an advantage.
