Job Summary:

Hedgehog Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nursery Practitioner and Senior Leader to join our team. As a key member of our nursery staff, you will be responsible for leading the planning and implementation of educational programs for children aged 2-5 years.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assist the nursery manager and deputy nursery manager in the day-to-day running of the setting.
  • Support the nursery staff and ensure they comply with all policies, procedures, and standards, including health and safety, hygiene, inclusion, and confidentiality.
  • Lead the planning of safe, creative, and appropriate opportunities for children based on their needs and interests, in line with the Early Years Foundation Stages (EYFS).
  • Develop and maintain good relationships and communication with parents/carers to facilitate meeting the needs of each child, including organizing meetings to update and involve parents/carers in their child's learning.
  • Help induct, supervise, and contribute to the performance management of staff according to policies and procedures.
  • Work creatively with children within the Early Years framework to provide an enabling learning environment for all children.
  • Ensure all children have equal access to opportunities to learn and develop.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience of working within a childcare setting (1+ years).
  • Hold a relevant Early Years qualification equivalent to Level 3 or above.
  • Experience of working with the Early Years Foundation Stages.
  • Understanding and recognition of the principles of equality and diversity.
  • Proven and successful experience of working with children of relevant age in an early learning environment.
  • Ability to lead the effective planning of learning.
  • Ability to set, demonstrate, and promote good practice in line with the ethos of the nursery.
  • Experience of keeping written records of children's achievements, including observations.
