About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Manager to join our Rail and Depots business, working on multiple projects nationwide. As an Environmental Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with legislative and corporate requirements related to the environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate compliance with environmental legislation and corporate requirements.
  • Develop and implement environmental management systems.
  • Conduct internal and external audits to ensure compliance.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure environmental considerations are integrated into project planning.
  • Provide training and guidance to colleagues on environmental procedures and best practices.
Requirements
  • Associate member of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA).
  • Affiliate member of the Chartered Institute of Waste Management (CIWM).
  • Internal Auditor (ISO 14001:2004) with demonstrable experience of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd party audits.
  • NEBOSH Specialist Diploma in Environmental Management (DipEM) or educated in an environmental degree.
  • Demonstrable site-based civils experience is essential, including heavy civil engineering.
  • Experience across a range of construction disciplines (building, rail, etc.) would be beneficial.
  • Good presentation, written, analytical, and IT skills.
  • Training and presentation experience throughout all levels of an organisation, preferably trained to 'Train the Trainer' level.
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to guide and educate/train at all levels.
