Job Overview

Sprint Recruitment Limited is seeking an experienced and skilled HGV Plant Workshop Supervisor to join their team. As a key member of the workshop team, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing heavy vehicles and plant equipment in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the workshop is running efficiently and effectively, with a focus on safety and quality.
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of HGV technicians and plant technicians, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Communicate with customers and internal stakeholders to ensure that maintenance and repair processes are completed to a high standard.
  • Develop and implement safe working practices and risk assessments to minimize the risk of injury and damage to equipment.
  • Assist in coordinating repairs on company assets, including heavy vehicles and plant equipment.
  • Undertake vehicle and equipment inspections, service, and repairs, in accordance with company policy.
  • Hold industry-recognized training qualifications, such as City & Guilds or NVQs.
  • Have previous experience of supervising an HGV workshop or plant workshop.
  • Have a wide range of knowledge of HGV vehicles and plant equipment.
  • Support a team environment where staff help each other and recognize their individual responsibilities.
  • Participate in any training and development required to deliver a safe and reliable fleet of vehicles.
  • Promote a safety and environmental culture in line with the company's policies and procedures.
  • Have a great attitude towards job efficiencies and housekeeping.
  • Ensure the workshop and yard areas comply with Health and Safety legislation.
  • Ensure all risk assessments and safe systems of work are adhered to.
Requirements
  • Industry-recognized training qualifications, such as City & Guilds or NVQs.
  • Previous experience of supervising an HGV workshop or plant workshop.
  • Wide range of knowledge of HGV vehicles and plant equipment.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
