Job Overview

The role of the Mechanical Commissioning Engineer involves overseeing the commissioning of mechanical systems within the nuclear sector. This position is integral to ensuring that all commissioning activities are conducted safely and efficiently, adhering to established protocols.

Location: Seascale, Cumbria
Rate: £47.61 per hour Umbrella inside IR35
Contract Duration: 12 Month contract, Monday to Friday

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and execute commissioning tests, ensuring safety protocols are followed.
  • Deliver the commissioning scope in a timely and cost-effective manner, aligned with project strategies.
  • Maintain a proactive approach to safety, encompassing nuclear, radiological, and environmental considerations.
  • Monitor commissioning progress, implementing corrective measures as required.
  • Facilitate daily communication with team members to secure necessary permissions and minimize disruptions.
  • Analyze and review commissioning test outcomes.
  • Integrate contributions from various project processes, including design and risk management.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
  • Proven experience in commissioning mechanical systems within the nuclear industry.
  • Minimum educational requirement: HNC/HND in an Engineering-related discipline or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with nuclear commissioning processes.
  • Understanding of project management principles; APM membership is advantageous.
  • Competence in performing calculations using Excel.
Security Clearance
  • Capability to obtain BPSS and P4 Pass is crucial for ongoing employment in this role.
Technical Proficiency
  • Proficient in the latest versions of Microsoft Office software.
