About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Commissioning Officer to join our team in the SEND sector. As a Commissioning Officer, you will play a crucial role in shaping and delivering services for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND).
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and Manage Commissioning Strategies: Develop and manage commissioning strategies for SEND services, ensuring alignment with national legislation and local priorities.
- Collaborate with Partners and Stakeholders: Collaborate with partners, stakeholders, and service providers to design and implement services that address the needs of children and young people with SEND.
- Monitor and Evaluate Services: Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of commissioned services, making recommendations for improvement where necessary.
- Manage Budgets: Manage budgets effectively, ensuring value for money in all commissioning activities.
- Provide Expert Advice: Provide expert advice and support to senior management and other teams on SEND commissioning.
- Advise on Consultations and Engagement: Advise on consultations and engagement with families, carers, and young people to ensure their voices are at the heart of service development.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Proven Experience: Proven experience in commissioning services, ideally within the SEND sector.
- Strong Understanding: Strong understanding of SEND legislation, policies, and best practices.
- Excellent Project Management Skills: Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills, with experience in monitoring and evaluating service performance.
- Outstanding Communication Skills: Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Ability to Work Collaboratively: Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently when required.
