Maintenance Supervisor Job Description

Uniserve Holdings Limited is seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Supervisor to join our team at the Felixstowe Mega Distribution Centre. As a key member of our facilities operations team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our 750,000 sq ft ambient and freezer warehousing facility.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Team Leadership: Oversee and manage the maintenance team, ensuring efficient operations and adherence to company standards.
  • Maintenance Planning: Plan, schedule, and execute preventative and reactive maintenance tasks to minimise downtime and optimise equipment performance.
  • Health and Safety: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including Legionella, Dsear, Loler, Puwer, and COSHH.
  • Contractor Management: Supervise external contractors, ensuring they adhere to Uniserve's health and safety policies.
  • Risk Assessment and Training: Update and maintain risk assessments and standard operating procedures, and assess individual training needs and implement development plans for team members.
  • Performance Improvement: Drive KPI targets through continuous improvement and cost-effective management of parts and suppliers.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in maintenance.
  • Certifications: IOSH Managing Safety (desirable).
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Health and Safety Knowledge: Understanding of health and safety rules and legislation.
  • Maintenance Knowledge: Knowledge of reactive and preventative maintenance.
  • Technical Skills: Computer proficiency in Windows, Excel, and cloud-based maintenance software.
  • Leadership and Management: Ability to supervise and manage teams effectively.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
