Job Overview

We are thrilled to announce an opportunity for a Procurement Specialist to become a vital part of our sourcing team at GE Renewable Energy Power and Aviation. This role will report directly to the Commercial Procurement Leader and involves managing designated suppliers in accordance with our sourcing policies, aiming to secure optimal contractual terms while ensuring satisfaction among internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Primary Duties
  • Transform planned demand into compliant purchase orders aligned with the production schedule. This includes identifying and evaluating potential suppliers, articulating requirements, analyzing proposals, and negotiating favorable commercial terms.
  • Issue purchase orders to ensure timely delivery while managing risks and addressing any arising tasks, issues, or disputes.
  • Champion compliant procurement practices in line with GE's procurement policies and procedures, executing functional strategies while continuously enhancing personal expertise and skills.
  • Operate within established authority limits and escalate matters to appropriate personnel when limits are exceeded.
  • Perform administrative tasks as necessary.
Qualifications Required
  • Relevant degree or CIPS certification.
  • Demonstrated experience in a procurement setting.
  • Aviation industry experience is highly desirable.

  • Proficient in documenting, planning, marketing, and executing procurement needs.
  • Ability to adhere to procurement policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with proficiency in IT.
  • Capable of collaborating effectively within a team environment.
  • Self-motivated and responsible within defined authority limits.
  • Curious mindset, willing to question and seek better methods for achieving objectives.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to engage with suppliers and key stakeholders.
Preferred Characteristics
  • Experience with US/UK government compliance is advantageous but not mandatory, as comprehensive training will be provided.
