Automotive Technician

Our client, a prestigious automotive retailer representing luxury car brands, is seeking an experienced Motor Vehicle Technician to join their team in Portsmouth. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing vehicle faults, ensuring high-quality workmanship, and providing excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:- Diagnose and repair vehicle faults using modern diagnostic equipment and a systematic approach.
- Meet with customers to understand their problems and provide clear solutions.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest technology and vehicle range, ensuring you can diagnose and repair faults efficiently.
- Carry out repairs and servicing to the highest standards, observing safe working practices and adhering to brand specifications.
- Liaise with colleagues and supervisors to resolve complex issues and ensure seamless workflow.
- Check and verify work quality through diagnostic equipment and road-testing, collaborating with Service Advisors.
- Complete relevant service documentation, including job sheets, PDI's, and service reports, in line with brand standards and warranty requirements.
- Conduct vehicle health checks and CitNOW video inspections in a timely manner.
- Maintain high standards of workshop housekeeping, including the use of special and personal tools.
- Proven knowledge of modern diagnostic equipment and techniques.
- Ability to work to the highest quality standards and efficiency targets.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of housekeeping.
- Prior experience of working in a main automotive dealer or equivalent environment.
- VOSA-approved MOT tester or equivalent qualification.
- Level 2 or Level 3 Vehicle Maintenance and Repair NVQ or equivalent.
