Job Summary:

EVera Recruitment is seeking an experienced Engineering Director to lead our client's engineering functions. As a key member of the leadership team, you will be responsible for ensuring that all engineering designs meet customer, industry, legal, and internal requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Leadership: Provide strategic technical guidance and oversight to ensure the successful development and launch of in-wheel motor and inverter technology.
  • Intellectual Property Management: Manage the company's intellectual property portfolio, including over 320 active patents, and identify areas for future patent protection.
  • Product Development Excellence: Develop and implement systems and procedures to drive product development excellence, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of high-quality products.
  • Functional Management: Lead the functional management team, providing guidance and support to deliver projects and drive business results.
  • Project Management: Support project management in scoping and resourcing projects, and provide an escalation route for inter-function conflicts.

Requirements:

  • Education: Degree in Engineering or a numerate subject.
  • Experience: Proven experience in the Automotive sector, specifically in product development and launch, in a start-up and growth-oriented business environment.
  • Technical Expertise: Experience in e-machine and/or inverter design and development from concept through to launch.
  • Quality Focus: Demonstrable experience of delivering high-quality products to demanding customers.
  • Industry Expertise: Significant experience in automotive Tier 1 product engineering functions.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication skills at all levels, including external stakeholders.
