Job Overview

Welsh Language Teaching Assistant Position

Academics is seeking a dedicated and experienced Welsh language teaching assistant to provide tailored support to a KS2 pupil with challenging behavior.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver one-to-one support to the pupil, focusing on academic and emotional development.
  • Collaborate with teachers to ensure the pupil remains on task and engaged in classroom activities.
  • Implement behavior management strategies, including movement breaks and other techniques as required.
  • Develop and maintain a positive relationship with the pupil, creating a stable learning environment.
  • Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and the Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to monitor progress and adapt strategies.

Requirements:

  • Fluency in the Welsh language.
  • Proven experience working one-to-one with children, particularly those with challenging behavior.
  • Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
  • Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).
