English Teacher Opportunity in South Yorkshire

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and skilled English Teacher to join a thriving Secondary School in Pontefract, South Yorkshire. As a key member of the team, you will deliver high-quality education in English, creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment that fosters student growth and development.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Teaching and Lesson Planning: Deliver engaging and effective English lessons in line with the British education curriculum, planning and preparing lessons to cater to diverse classroom settings and student needs.
  2. Assessment and Progress Tracking: Assess, track, and report on students' progress, ensuring accurate and timely feedback to support their development.
  3. Classroom Management and Communication: Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, maintaining efficient classroom management skills and strong communication with colleagues and school staff.
  4. Safeguarding and Child Protection: Demonstrate a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies, ensuring the well-being and safety of students.
Requirements:
  1. Qualifications: Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE), Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), or equivalent.
  2. Teaching Experience: Proven track record of delivering excellent teaching experience in a similar role with secondary school children or within an educational setting.
  3. Curriculum Knowledge: Solid knowledge of the UK English curriculum and assessment frameworks.
  4. Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with efficient classroom management skills.
  5. Residency and DBS: Currently residing in the UK, with an enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service.
