Position Overview

Work Location: Bursledon, Southampton
Schedule: 30-36 hours per week on average, organized over a 4-week rotation, including day, night, and weekend shifts, with at least one weekend off each month. Shifts may vary in length, including 10, 14, or 24-hour blocks, covering hours from 8am to 6pm, 6pm to 8am, or full 24-hour periods. You may also accompany the client on vacations and provide coverage for team members during their leave or illness. Day shifts typically run from 8am to 6pm, while night shifts are from 6pm to 8am, with sleeping hours from 11pm to 8am.

Compensation Structure:

  • Rate 1: £12.37 per hour for Monday to Friday, 7am to 6pm
  • Rate 2: £11.37 per hour for Monday to Thursday, 6pm to 11pm, and Friday, 6pm to 8pm (Day shift and Waking Night hours, if disturbed)
  • Rate 3: £13.04 per hour for Friday, 8pm to 11pm, and Saturday, Sunday, and Bank Holidays, 7am to 11pm (Day shift and Waking Night hours, if disturbed)
  • Rate 4: £National Living Wage (age-dependent) for Monday to Thursday, 11pm to 7am, Sleeping Nights
  • Rate 5: £National Living Wage + £1 (age-dependent) for Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Bank Holidays, 11pm to 7am, Sleeping Nights

Driver Requirement: Essential
Use of Client's Vehicle: No.
Use of Personal Vehicle for Work: Yes, a personal vehicle is required, insured for business use, to transport the client and attend training and team meetings.

Essential Qualifications: Experience in supporting adults with epilepsy, learning disabilities, and acquired brain injury. Flexibility is crucial.
Desirable Qualifications: Experience in motivating young adults with learning disabilities or acquired brain injury.

Accommodation: A spacious double bedroom with a separate bathroom will be provided when working sleeping nights.

Interview Process: Interviews will be conducted as applications are received, potentially via video call.

Start Date: To be determined based on availability and successful completion of employment checks, including DBS and references.

About the Client: The role involves supporting a client with a vibrant personality who enjoys humor, animals, and coffee. The client, who lives independently, requires assistance to engage in various activities and maintain a structured routine. The support worker will play a vital role in helping the client achieve independence and participate in community activities.

Key Responsibilities: The support worker will assist the client in daily living skills, including participation in activities at a local farm, maintaining health and fitness, and managing household tasks. It is essential to work collaboratively with the client and the support team to ensure a smooth and supportive living environment.
