Job Title: Highway Maintenance SurveyorThe Highways team at North Northamptonshire Council provides essential services to residents, ensuring a safe and efficient road network. As a Highway Maintenance Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in delivering the highway maintenance term service contract, working closely with the Highways Service Manager and the Contract Engineers.
Key Responsibilities:- Support the Highways Service Manager in assessing the Contractor's monthly applications for payment and preparing Payment Certificates.
- Liaise with the Highways Service Manager, Contract Engineers, and Contract Inspector to confirm staff, materials, plant, and equipment align with the Contractor's assessment of Defined Costs.
- Collaborate with the Contractor to develop accurate monthly forecasting of future expenditure on highway maintenance works.
- Assist the Highways Service Manager in assessing each annual final account and ensuring quality and best value services are delivered to the Council.
- Attend fortnightly contract Commercial meetings and Delivery Group meetings, as well as Risk Reduction meetings.
- Collate monthly, quarterly, and annual performance data to check the Contractor's monthly KPI submission.
- Provide expert advice on contract variations to ensure they meet the commercial constraints of the Contract and needs of the authority.
- Proven track record in cost management, contract administration, and risk management.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts, contract law, and regulations, with a particular focus on NEC4 contracts.
- Experience in highway maintenance and project delivery, with a degree in quantity surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
