Job Title: ENT Specialist

We are seeking two highly skilled ENT Specialists to join our esteemed team at University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our ENT department, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Manage theatre lists and run independent outpatient clinics
  • Participate in the consultant rota and provide on-call cover for the provision of the service
  • Develop and implement effective patient care plans
Person Specification:
  • Full GMC registration with a licence to practise at time of appointment
  • Medical Degree from a recognised university
  • Completed specialist training in ENT/ otolaryngology or recognised equivalent qualification
  • Meets the criteria set out in the Specialist grade generic capabilities framework for both generic and ENT specific capabilities
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
  • FRCS in otolaryngology
  • Completed a minimum of 12 years' medical work (either continuous period or in aggregate) since obtaining a primary medical qualification of which a minimum of six years should have been in a relevant specialty
  • Equivalent years' experience in relevant specialty from other medical grades including from overseas

  • Critically assesses own learning needs and ensures a personal development plan reflects both clinical practice and the relevant generic capabilities
Patient Safety and Quality Improvement:
  • Takes prompt action where there is an issue with the safety or quality of patient care
  • Collaborates with MDT and interprofessional teams to manage risks and issues across organisations and settings
