Family Medicine Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Family Medicine Specialist to join our team at Buxton Medical Practice.
Job SummaryThe successful candidate will be responsible for managing a caseload and providing high-quality patient care in a primary care setting. As a senior member of the team, you will be expected to set an example to others, assist in education and training, and contribute to the achievement of practice targets.
Clinical Responsibilities- Provide a wide range of clinical services, including surgery consultations, telephone consultations, and home visits, as required.
- Make professional decisions in relation to presenting problems and develop care and treatment plans in consultation with patients.
- Screen patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness, and initiate investigations and referrals as necessary.
- Develop and implement care plans in consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols.
- Ensure appropriate follow-up of patients and record clear and contemporaneous computerised consultation notes.
- Collect data for audit purposes and contribute to the effectiveness of the team by reflecting on own and team activities.
- Awareness of and compliance with all relevant practice policies and guidelines, including prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, and health and safety.
- Commitment to life-long learning and audit to ensure evidence-based best practice.
- Contributing to evaluation/audit and clinical standard setting within the organisation.
- Attendance at regular in-house governance, educational meetings and training as well as events with other agencies as appropriate.
The post-holder will assist in promoting and maintaining their own and others health, safety and security as defined in the Practice Health & Safety Policy.

CommunicationThe post-holder should recognise the importance of effective communication within the team and will strive to communicate effectively with other team members, patients and carers, and recognise peoples needs for alternative methods of communication and respond accordingly.
