The Oracle EBS Tax Consultant plays a pivotal role in the deployment and management of the Oracle eBusiness Suite (EBS) Tax module, ensuring precise tax calculations and adherence to compliance standards across various jurisdictions. This position entails a thorough understanding of both local and international tax laws, configuring the system accordingly, and engaging with diverse stakeholders to enhance tax functionalities within the ERP framework.

Core Responsibilities:

  1. Implementation and Configuration of Tax Module:
  • Oversee the deployment and customization of the Oracle eBusiness Suite (EBS) Tax module.
  • Adapt the EBS Tax module to align with local and global indirect tax regulations.
  • Tax Compliance and Reporting:
    • Facilitate and manage indirect tax reporting across various regions.
    • Ensure the EBS system is accurately configured to comply with all applicable tax laws.
  • Interpretation of Legislation:
    • Examine and interpret indirect tax regulations from multiple countries.
    • Convert legislative requirements into system rules within the Oracle EBS Tax module.
  • Error Diagnosis and Resolution:
    • Identify and rectify issues related to tax calculation discrepancies within the Oracle EBS system.
    • Collaborate with technical teams to resolve system bugs and enhance tax functionalities.
  • Collaboration Across Functions:
    • Engage with business units, product owners, end-users, development teams, and vendors.
    • Act as the primary contact for all inquiries and issues related to the Oracle EBS Tax module.
  • Testing and Validation:
    • Create, maintain, and execute test plans, cases, and scripts.
    • Conduct comprehensive testing to ensure the Oracle EBS Tax module's accuracy and reliability.
  • Continuous Improvement Initiatives:
    • Identify and implement enhancements to the Oracle EBS Tax module to streamline processes and maintain compliance.
    • Stay informed on changes to tax laws and regulations, adjusting system configurations as needed.
