The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical individual to join our Direct Investments team in Europe as an Associate. The successful candidate will work closely with our investment professionals to source, evaluate, and execute direct investments in private companies across a range of sectors and geographies.
Key Responsibilities
- Work as part of small deal teams to source, evaluate, and execute direct investments in private companies
- Be involved in all aspects of the transaction process, including financial modeling and valuation, commercial and financial due diligence, and presenting materials to the Investment Committee
- Establish and maintain relationships with counterparties, including potential and existing investee companies, advisors, and other investing firms
- Monitor certain of GIC's investments, including supporting GIC representatives at board meetings, tracking financial performance, and interacting with management and other shareholders
- Participate in ad-hoc projects, such as global sector reviews and market mapping of specific sub-sectors
Requirements
- 1-3 years of work experience in a leading investment bank, consulting firm, or in the Private Equity industry
- Strong academic background
- Strong analytical skills and experience in building financial and operating models
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- A passion for understanding businesses and what drives business quality and value
- A self-starter mindset with the ability to operate in a less structured environment
- Fluent English, with an additional European language highly advantageous
