Position Overview

IT Support Engineer

Apache Associates is in search of a proficient IT Support Engineer to oversee the functionality of our operating systems for both desktop and server environments. The ideal candidate will possess experience in managing cloud-based productivity suites. This position entails providing on-site assistance, troubleshooting, and maintaining IT infrastructures for our clientele, necessitating travel to various locations. Flexibility in working hours may be required to address urgent IT issues or maintenance tasks.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver on-site technical assistance and troubleshooting for Windows operating systems (desktop and server).
  • Administer and manage cloud-based productivity environments, including user accounts and collaboration tools.
  • Install, configure, and sustain hardware and software systems.
  • Perform regular system maintenance and updates to ensure peak performance.
  • Identify and resolve technical challenges related to network connectivity, hardware, and software.
  • Engage with various sites to comprehend their IT requirements and provide customized solutions.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of client systems, issues encountered, and resolutions provided.
  • Travel to different locations as necessary for support and maintenance.
  • Adapt working hours as needed to tackle urgent IT-related issues and maintenance tasks.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • At least 12 months of experience in IT support engineering or a similar role.
  • Thorough understanding of Windows operating systems for both desktops and servers.
  • Experience in managing cloud-based productivity environments, including email and collaboration platforms.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Capability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities efficiently.
  • Experience in an educational environment is highly advantageous.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Windows Server, Microsoft 365 Certified) are beneficial.
