About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Front-End Developer to join our team at NICE – The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence. As a Senior Front-End Developer, you will play a key role in building and maintaining our web applications, ensuring they are robust, accessible, and meet the needs of our users.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop maintainable, accessible web applications and user interfaces using modern front-end technologies.
  • Collaborate with the User Experience Design team to advise on prototypes and ensure alignment with our design principles.
  • Plan and undertake research and assessment of emerging front-end technologies to inform adoption plans.
  • Stay up-to-date with modern front-end tools and techniques, and contribute to the development of best practices for front-end development.
  • Implement best practice client-side security in new and existing projects.
Requirements
  • Extensive experience building robust, cross-browser and cross-device user interfaces.
  • Experience in building accessible interfaces that work for as many users as possible, regardless of their needs.
  • Detailed knowledge of modern JavaScript (ES6+), ReactJS (or roughly equivalent JS view library), and build tooling.
  • Detailed knowledge of modern and legacy CSS, including use of pre-processors in tooling.
  • Detailed understanding of progressive enhancement and other front-end software design principles.
