Key Responsibilities
Technical Analysis and Documentation:
- Engage with Medical Change Leaders and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to conduct thorough technical assessments of organizational and user requirements.
- Compile detailed specifications for business solutions, ensuring compliance with healthcare standards and best practices.
- Review existing departmental workflows and processes, proposing re-engineering strategies to maximize system capabilities and improve efficiency, performance, and accuracy.
System Development and Deployment:
- Collaborate with HCA EHR Medical Change Leaders, SMEs, and cross-functional teams to ensure that proposed solutions are effectively designed and patient-focused.
- Oversee the deployment of departmental systems, including conducting workflow analyses and ensuring seamless integration with other internal and external systems.
- Construct and enhance system functionalities in accordance with technical specifications.
Testing and Validation:
- Assist clinical teams during unit testing and integrated testing phases of the EHR rollout.
- Coordinate and facilitate testing initiatives, ensuring comprehensive evaluation and clinical validation of the EHR system's functionalities and workflows.
- Identify and resolve issues that arise during testing, working closely with technical teams and stakeholders for timely solutions.
- Participate in the planning, testing, and validation of processes prior to the secure transfer of data to the live EHR system.
Training and Knowledge Transfer:
- Lead and participate in training sessions and workshops to inform clinicians about best practices and documentation standards.
- Collaborate with the training and development team to ensure effective knowledge transfer from the clinical build team.
- Contribute clinical insights to the creation of comprehensive training materials and programs for end-users.
- Ensure that clinical staff are well-prepared for the transition to the new EHR system, providing ongoing support and guidance.
Process Improvement and Optimization:
- Continuously assess processes and workflows related to the EHR implementation, identifying opportunities for enhancement and optimization.
- Support the planning and execution of cutover and go-live activities as directed by clinical leadership.
- Work with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements and streamline operations, promoting a culture of continuous enhancement.
Innovation and Technological Advancement:
- Explore innovative concepts and technological advancements to enhance existing systems and develop efficient processes.
- Identify opportunities to automate routine tasks, improving the functionality of the new EHR system and supporting exceptional patient care.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Essential:
- Certification or demonstrable experience in implementing technological changes and/or business analysis.
- Prior experience in defining or mapping requirements for digital health implementation projects within the UK healthcare sector.
- Intermediate computer proficiency, including familiarity with key applications such as Visio, Excel, and MS Teams.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights for process enhancement.
- Detail-oriented approach to reviewing documentation, process maps, and requirements.
- Experience working in a fast-paced agile team environment.
- A proactive individual with a passion for learning and professional development.
Desired:
- Bachelor's degree is preferred.
- Previous involvement in Electronic Health Record implementation projects in a business analyst, technological build, or operational role.
- Experience in stakeholder management and exposure to Agile project environments.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders and facilitate knowledge sharing.
- Proficient in using electronic health record systems and comfortable with technology adoption.
- Adaptable and initiative-driven, with a solutions-oriented mindset and the ability to excel in a dynamic environment.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the capability to identify and address complex challenges.
- Familiarity with healthcare regulations, standards, and best practices related to electronic health record systems.
