Job Title: Lead Software Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Lead Software Engineer to join our team in Wolverhampton, United Kingdom. As a key member of our software development team, you will be responsible for leading a combined UK and India-based development team to ensure the highest level of quality delivery and adherence to committed timescales.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have previous delivery management experience across a multi-skilled software delivery team, ideally in an Agile environment. You will be effective in client engagement and stakeholder management, with excellent client-facing and internal presentation skills, including working with senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities
  • Lead deliveries and ensure projects are resourced effectively and your team are supported and developed.
  • Ensure all team members are effectively trained with the skills required to perform their roles both now, and as part of a career development plan.
  • Work closely with the Retail & Hospitality Product Manager and PPM function to support the planning and capacity management of the team to ensure effective delivery of releases to required timescales, cost, and quality for all planned deliveries.
  • Collaborate with the CTO Group to ensure any defined solutions align with the technical strategy.
  • Create, implement, and maintain a plan to address any variations in resource utilisation within the team.
  • Ensure the team have the right processes, technologies, and support to deliver their planned work effectively regardless of international boundaries and time zone constraints.
Requirements
  • Previous delivery management experience across a multi-skilled software delivery team, ideally in an Agile environment.
  • Excellent client-facing and internal presentation skills, including working with senior stakeholders.
  • Pragmatic, still highly organized and structured.
  • Result-oriented with a hands-on mentality, with a commitment to continuous improvement and self-development.
