About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cardiothoracic Wound Care Specialist to join our team at Royal Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Wound Care and SSI team, you will play a vital role in supporting the management of complex wounds and preventing surgical site infections in cardiothoracic patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate the current evidence base and support practice development in wound care
  • Provide wound care education to internal and external staff
  • Support primary research projects in wound care
  • Work under the direction of the Nurse Consultant for Wound Care and the lead SSI nurse to deliver a consistent approach to managing complex wounds and pressure ulcer care
  • Develop and maintain the SSI surveillance service, reporting findings to local and national bodies
