Role Overview
Our rail division is rapidly expanding within the Infrastructure project team. In light of this growth, we are looking to enhance our capabilities in the Yorkshire region and are in search of Project Managers at various experience levels. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Project Manager will be integral to Project Management Commissions, taking charge of comprehensive service delivery, particularly concerning large or intricate projects.
Responsibilities include:
- Engaging with clients daily to ensure their objectives are achieved and that projects are completed within budget and on schedule while meeting quality standards.
- Managing projects of varying sizes, typically ranging from £10m to £25m, with larger advisory projects possible.
- Providing strategic advice during project inception, including guidance on various approaches to fulfill client objectives.
- Defining and maintaining project requirements.
- Establishing success criteria for projects, encompassing time, cost, technical, and performance metrics.
- Implementing effective project governance, processes, and systems throughout the project lifecycle.
- Developing and maintaining project schedules, including the master project plan.
- Overseeing project development in line with approved plans and targets.
- Creating and executing resource plans and managing resource procurement.
- Leading and coordinating the cross-functional project team.
- Monitoring project performance using KPIs to enhance outcomes.
- Participating in the change control process.
- Facilitating communication between the project team and clients through regular meetings and written updates.
- Identifying project risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
- Preparing formal progress reports and other documentation.
- Interfacing with clients, consultants, and stakeholders throughout all project phases.
- Advising clients on Health & Safety and Environmental considerations.
- Managing quality, safety, health, and environmental issues throughout the project.
Qualifications
- Experience in managing major Rail projects.
- Experience in complex stakeholder environments is preferred.
- NEC3: ECC Project Manager accreditation is advantageous.
- Chartered or qualified status with ICE, APM, RICS, etc., is preferred.
