The Role: Global Cyber Defence Manager

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive global cybersecurity strategy and roadmap, ensuring alignment with business objectives and industry best practices.
  • Establish and maintain robust security policies, standards, procedures, and guidelines to safeguard sensitive information and critical systems.
  • Proactively monitor and respond to cyber threats and security incidents, implementing effective mitigation strategies and incident response plans.
  • Design and implement insightful dashboards to monitor and report on the security posture of our technology estate, providing actionable insights to stakeholders.
  • Provide expert technical guidance and support to senior management and project teams, ensuring cybersecurity considerations are integrated into all aspects of business operations.
  • Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration tests, collaborating with external providers to identify and remediate security weaknesses.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards, such as ISO 27001, NIST, and GDPR.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on supplier due diligence processes and customer inquiries related to cybersecurity.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Possesses a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification or equivalent, demonstrating a deep understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices.
  • Has extensive experience in the field of cybersecurity, preferably within the telecommunications industry, with a proven track record of success in implementing and managing security programs.
  • Demonstrates strong knowledge of network protocols, security technologies, and industry-leading security frameworks.
  • Possesses practical experience with vulnerability assessment and penetration testing methodologies and tools.
  • Is familiar with relevant security regulations and standards, including ISO 27001, NIST, and GDPR.
  • Exhibits exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and assess cybersecurity risks effectively.
  • Communicates clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing, tailoring messages to diverse audiences.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating adaptability and resilience in managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Maintains a high level of attention to detail and accuracy, ensuring the integrity of security processes and procedures.
  • Is committed to continuous learning and professional development, staying abreast of emerging cybersecurity threats and technologies.
