Astute People is collaborating with a leading firm in the renewable energy sector, seeking to appoint a Plant Technician for their innovative Anaerobic Digestion facility.


The Plant Technician will be crucial in maintaining the daily operations of the renewable energy facility, offering a competitive salary of up to £32,000, commensurate with experience, along with overtime opportunities and a call-out retainer.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Plant Technician, reporting to the Plant Manager, your duties will include:
- Overseeing the daily functions of the anaerobic digestion facility
- Utilizing SCADA control systems to monitor operational processes
- Performing both planned and reactive maintenance on the facility, including pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, and pipework
- Operating mobile plant equipment, such as telehandlers, to feed fuel into the process
- Addressing machinery and system failures after receiving appropriate training
- Maintaining site cleanliness and organization
- Adhering to health and safety regulations
- Executing additional tasks as required


Qualifications:
We are looking for candidates who possess:
- A relevant engineering degree is preferred but not mandatory
- Mobile plant licenses/tickets
- A full UK driving license


Personal Attributes:
The ideal candidate will:
- Have essential experience in anaerobic digestion
- Reside within a reasonable commuting distance from the facility
- Be experienced in operating mobile plant machinery, such as telehandlers or loading shovels
- Have familiarity with first-line maintenance on processing equipment like pumps and conveyors
- Have knowledge of SCADA or DCS systems, which would be advantageous
- Be hardworking and comfortable working outdoors in an agricultural setting


Compensation and Benefits:
The Plant Technician position offers:
- A salary range of £28,000 to £32,000 based on experience
- Opportunities for overtime and a call-out retainer
