Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Conservation Officer to join our team at Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust / Nature Recovery Hampshire. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering Countryside Stewardship Scheme and other work plan objectives, working closely with colleagues, volunteers, contractors, project partners, and the grazing team to implement habitat management activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement habitat management activities, including the maintenance of reserve infrastructure and gathering ecological data through working with partners and carrying out surveying when required.
  • Work closely with the grazing team to ensure effective habitat management and conservation.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with project partners, contractors, and stakeholders to achieve conservation objectives.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of conservation plans and strategies.
  • Monitor and report on conservation progress, identifying areas for improvement and suggesting solutions.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in conservation management, habitat restoration, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of conservation principles, practices, and policies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
