Senior Safety Engineer

Location: Warton

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Safety Engineer to support the safety engineering activities for cutting-edge products early in the engineering lifecycle. Our client is a leader in defence and aerospace, focused on developing innovative technologies for the air sector. They emphasize the importance of product safety and risk management across advanced systems.

As a Senior Safety Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring product safety through hazard identification, safety analysis, and risk management. This role also involves providing safety guidance to project teams and supporting product integrity efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Hazard identification and safety analysis
  2. Safety analysis and justifications
  3. Hazard log management and Product safety/risk management
  4. Support safety design reviews and installations
  5. Assist managing emerging product safety concerns

Requirements:

  1. A degree in a STEM subject or equivalent relevant experience, preferably in safety engineering
  2. Track record in hazard identification and risk assessment
  3. Experience in reviewing safety cases and justifications
  4. Ability to lead teams and work autonomously
  5. Broad Engineering experience with aircraft design, from design through to in-service use
