Job Summary

The Senior Practitioner will play a key role in the development and delivery of an effective Children's Social Work Service. This will involve working closely with Team Leaders to provide supervision, consultation, and advice to staff and students as appropriate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert guidance and support to staff and students on complex cases
  • Work in partnership with other services to deliver high-quality support to families
  • Keep up-to-date with changes in legislation, statutory guidance, and best practice
  • Manage a caseload of complex cases and provide regular updates to Team Leaders
  • Deputise for the Team Manager as required and promote best professional practice
  • Write and present reports to Children's Hearings and Case Conferences
  • Lead on key areas of practice development, such as Youth Justice and Kinship Care

Requirements

  • Proven experience in Children's Social Work
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and statutory guidance
