We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Chef to join our team at Kingfisher Nursing Home in Cheshunt, Hertfordshire. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for preparing hot and cold meals for our residents, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and maintaining a clean and hygienic kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and cook meals for residents, taking into account their dietary needs and preferences
- Assist with planning seasonal menus and maintaining a high standard of food quality
- Ensure compliance with health and safety policies and regulations, including recording fridge temperatures and reporting any incidents
- Maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen environment, including washing and clearing up equipment
- Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to achieve high standards of food service
We are looking for a candidate with previous experience in a similar role and setting, a Certificate Level II in Food Safety and Hygiene, and knowledge of nutritional needs of older people. You should also have a positive and flexible attitude towards work and the ability to work well in a team.
