We are in search of a Lead Power Systems Engineer to become a vital member of our Analytics Team based in Ireland, England, United Kingdom.

Role Overview

As a key player at Smart Wires, you will be instrumental in redefining the grid with our innovative SmartValve technology. Your contributions will be essential in modernizing the grid, promoting the integration of renewable energy, and tackling the complexities of an evolving energy sector.

The Lead Power Systems Engineer will work collaboratively with global teams, engage with clients, and assist in the creation of state-of-the-art solutions.

Main Responsibilities
  • Conduct steady-state, dynamic, and EMT analyses for client transmission systems.
  • Incorporate Smart Wires' solutions into electrical system operations.
  • Design decision support tools for power flow management devices.
  • Perform testing and validation of models and applications.
  • Collaborate on product innovation and feature improvements.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of a Master's degree in Electrical and/or Computer Engineering.
  • At least 3 years of professional experience in power systems.
  • Expertise in transmission system modeling software.
  • Familiarity with planning criteria and high-level programming languages.
  • Experience with software development methodologies and tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication abilities.
  • Capability to work both independently and as part of a global team.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with network simulations and Energy Management Systems.
  • Proficiency in software development and cloud-based applications.
  • Background in production cost modeling.
