About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at Systems Engineering & Assessment (SEA). As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for providing mechanical engineering input into the design and development of our products and projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Produce sound technical solutions and ensure they are well defined, optimized, and understood.
  • Provide input into engineering effort and duration estimates to ensure work packages are delivered to quality, time, and cost.
  • Work to project milestones with a strong focus on customer requirements.
  • Work with project managers to support the provision of accurate progress reports and to escalate emergent risks and issues.
  • Understand the technical trade-offs involved in making priority and 'fit-for-purpose' determinations.
Requirements
  • Previous mechanical engineering experience.
  • Experience within Solidworks or similar 3D CAD package.
  • Experience with part / configuration control package (e.g. Solidworks PDM, Windchill).
  • Experience with Finite Element analysis design (FEA).
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and an ability to work independently to both fixed and flexible deadlines.
  • A passion for working collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Experience in design for Defence products would be beneficial.
