About This Role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Band 7 Social Worker to join our growing Perinatal Mental Health Service within Cluster 2. This role offers the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of women experiencing mental health challenges during pregnancy and the postpartum period.
Your Responsibilities
- Provide direct clinical support to a caseload of complex cases, conducting thorough assessments and developing individualized care plans.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists, nurses, midwives, and therapists, to ensure holistic patient care.
- Advocate for the needs of service users within the healthcare system and wider community.
- Contribute to safeguarding initiatives and child protection procedures, ensuring the safety and well-being of vulnerable individuals.
- Participate in training and supervision activities to maintain professional development and enhance clinical skills.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
- Registered with Social Work England and hold a relevant professional qualification (Dip SW, BA Social Work, CQSW).
- Proven experience in conducting assessments and supporting individuals with complex needs.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding principles and child protection legislation.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
Desirable Skills and Qualifications
- Master's degree or equivalent experience in social work or a related field.
- Experience working within perinatal mental health services or safeguarding settings.
- Knowledge of evidence-based practice and current developments in perinatal psychiatry.
