Job Title: Academic Accounting Finance Business Partner

We are working closely with a Local Authority in Bexley to assist with the appointment of a Finance Business Partner, on a 5-month contract, with a high likelihood of extension. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance and be able to provide expert advice to the defined service area.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Lead the financial advice and support to the defined service area, focusing on revenue and capital monitoring, delivering savings, and budget setting and closure of accounts processes.
  2. Ensure that financial information is relevant and balanced, and is received by decision-makers at the appropriate level.
  3. Utilize financial data analytics to inform budget monitoring and longer-term financial planning.
Requirements:
  1. Qualified CCAB Accountant or equivalent relevant finance qualification.
  2. Participation in Continuing Professional Development.
  3. Accounting and budgetary experience, sound knowledge of local government finance framework, accounting principles and standards, statutory requirements, and relevant codes of practice.
