About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Counselling Lead to join our team at Staffordshire Pathway Project. As a key member of our counselling service, you will be responsible for coordinating, leading, and expanding our counselling service to support adults who have experienced domestic abuse.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and lead our counselling service, ensuring delivery falls within the BACP Framework and is safe, professional, and accessible.
  • Hold a small client caseload and provide high-quality counselling to adults who have experienced domestic abuse.
  • Develop and implement service development plans to expand our counselling service.
  • Liaise with universities and colleges to recruit and induct counsellors and student counselling placements.
  • Allocate clients to counsellors and student placements, providing on-site support as needed.
  • Assess client needs and risks, including those with complex issues, and provide appropriate support.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with colleagues, management, and external partners.
  • Contribute to the development of our service evaluation and improvement plans.
Requirements
  • Recognised qualification in counselling or psychotherapy at Level 5 or above.
  • Membership of BACP and eligibility for or working towards professional accreditation.
  • Experience of delivering integrative counselling and person-centred therapy.
  • Experience of leading service development and managing a team.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to maintain clear boundaries.
  • Strong team working ethos and team management skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and handle competing demands.
