Job Summary

The Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced anaesthetist to fill a senior clinical fellow position in anaesthetics. This is a fixed-term appointment for three years, with a probationary period of six months.

Main Duties

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality anaesthetic care to patients, working closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure excellent patient outcomes. The role will involve out-of-hours work in anaesthesia and intensive care, with local or distant supervision.

About the Role

This is a non-training post, and the appointee will not have deanery approval for training. However, the role offers opportunities to gain experience in a wide range of anaesthetic specialties, including airway, head and neck, regional, obstetrics, paediatrics, neuro, cardiac, vascular, major GI surgery, robotic surgery, and plastics.

Requirements
  • Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practice
  • Final FRCA or equivalent qualification (EDAIC and FCAI are acceptable)
  • Minimum of four years postgraduate experience, with at least six months of anaesthetic experience in the UK or Republic of Ireland
  • Clinical competencies at the level of post-fellowship registrar
  • ALS provider
Desirable Qualifications
  • Specialist fellowship experience in anaesthetic sub-specialties, such as cardiac, neuro, or paediatric anaesthesia
  • EPALS/APLS provider
  • ATLS provider
