About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Casework Officer to join our Security and Protection Group in Belfast. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the Department fulfils its legal and statutory obligations with regards national security related casework.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee judicial reviews and civil claims for damages
  • Exercise the Secretary of State's statutory powers to protect national security related information and equities
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with legal advisors, partners in other government departments, and security and law enforcement partners
  • Progress complex casework, requiring an eye for detail and analytical mind
  • Prioritise competing tasks and maintain focus on longer running cases
Requirements
  • Good communication and relationship management skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with deadlines outside of control
  • Discretion and thoughtfulness in approach
  • Articulate and proactive in all dealings
  • Good judgement and autonomy
  • DV clearance and full, current driving licence
