Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the teacher in planning, delivering, and assessing lessons in accordance with the national curriculum.
  • Work with individual children and small groups, providing differentiated support and encouragement to meet their specific needs.
  • Utilize a range of specialist strategies and resources to support children with autism, such as visual aids, social stories, and sensory activities.
  • Assist in developing children's communication, social, emotional, and behavioral skills.
  • Collaborate with parents, carers, and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for each child.
  • Help maintain accurate records and progress reports to inform ongoing planning and assessment.
Requirements:
  • Experience working with children with special educational needs, particularly autism.
  • Knowledge of the EYFS curriculum and how to effectively support children with autism in the classroom.
  • Ability to use a range of specialist strategies and resources to support children with autism.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with parents, carers, and other professionals.
  • Highly organized with good record-keeping skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and demonstrate a positive, flexible, and proactive attitude.
