Technical Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Manager - HVAC Systems to join our team at Mitchell Maguire Recruitment Ltd.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical design and application assistance to customers and internal staff members, as well as offering technical advice and support with any queries as required.
The role will involve assisting the sales team with detail quotations and project specific information, keeping up to date with the technicalities of the full product range, and liaising with Regional Sales Manager and National Technical Manager on new product development, design changes and service.
The ideal candidate will have Design / Application experience within the HVAC market sector, sound technical understanding of air conditioning, heat pump, ancillaries and refrigeration systems, and people management / team leader experience.
They will also have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be a hard worker who is ready to get stuck in.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of circa 5 direct reports, including Applications Engineers and Sales Administrators, and will be expected to increase the quality and effectiveness of the design team, regularly monitoring service levels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical design and application assistance to customers and internal staff members
- Offer technical advice and support with any queries as required
- Assist the sales team with detail quotations and project specific information
- Keep up to date with the technicalities of the full product range
- Liaise with Regional Sales Manager and National Technical Manager on new product development, design changes and service
- Manage the project database, maintaining standards and effectiveness of quotations
- Conduct training presentations to AC contractors and specifying consultants
- Monitor and increase the quality and effectiveness of the design team
Requirements:
- Design / Application experience within the HVAC market sector
- Sound technical understanding of air conditioning, heat pump, ancillaries and refrigeration systems
- People management / team leader experience
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Hard worker who is ready to get stuck in
