About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Group Financial Controller to join our team at Kainos. As a key member of our finance team, you will play a critical role in driving financial performance and providing strategic guidance to the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a team of accounting professionals and operational finance team members to deliver day-to-day finance functions.
  • Develop and implement financial reporting processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting to stakeholders.
  • Provide financial analysis and insights to inform business decisions and drive strategic growth.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with divisional stakeholders to become a trusted business partner.
  • Ensure financial operations are managed efficiently, with a focus on controls and minimizing errors.
  • Design and implement accounting controls, including the monthly balance sheet reconciliation process.
  • Work with the Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team to deliver budgeting and forecasting cycles.
  • Manage key external relationships, including investors, banks, auditors, and advisors.
  • Assist with year-end audit and interim reporting requirements, and manage aspects of the relationship with our financial auditors.
  • Manage and maximize grant positions globally.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement across the team, identifying opportunities for efficiency and implementing process improvements.
  • Support the Group Head of Finance on key strategic projects, such as mergers and acquisitions, restructuring, and presenting finance packs to executives and the Board of Directors.
Requirements
  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified with at least 7 years of post-qualification experience, including 3 years at a senior finance management level.
  • Experience working in a global business with multiple jurisdictions, service lines, and divisions.
  • Strong experience in financial systems and Excel, with the ability to manage and analyze complex financial data.
  • Ability to manage, coach, and mentor a high-performing team to create an environment that encourages continuous learning and development.
  • Ability to make effective decisions in fast-paced, complex projects, and deliver results to tight deadlines.
  • Experience building effective relationships with key stakeholders to support business growth.
  • Experience in risk mitigation, identifying and reducing key dependencies in finance processes, and building in efficiencies.
  • Ability to communicate financial information and processes clearly and simply, both verbally and in writing.
  • Active participation in knowledge sharing activities, both within the team and at a wider capability level.
Desirable Requirements
  • Experience working in a plc environment.
  • Experience working in a fast-growing SaaS business.
  • Adept at working with financial planning and analysis tools, such as Working Financials or Adaptive Planning.
