Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Graduate ASD Teaching Assistant to join our team at a primary school in Kingston-upon-Thames. As a Graduate ASD Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting children with Autism and other Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a dynamic and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to children with Autism and other SEN, promoting their social, emotional, and academic development.
  • Assist teachers in planning and delivering lessons, adapting materials to meet the needs of children with SEN.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues, ensuring a supportive and inclusive school community.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs).
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

  • Graduate degree in a relevant field (e.g., Education, Psychology, Special Education).
  • Previous experience working with children with Autism and other SEN, preferably in a school setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous learning.
