Job Title: Mechanical Fitter Apprentice

At Fives Landis Ltd., we are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Mechanical Fitter Apprentice to join our team. As an apprentice, you will have the opportunity to learn and develop your skills in building precision machine tools and component manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work alongside experienced mechanical fitters to gain hands-on experience and training in the maintenance, repair, and assembly of mechanical systems and machinery.
  • Learn how to work with state-of-the-art machine construction systems and measure geometry and displacements.
  • Develop skills in temperature control and its effect on material shape and accuracy.
  • Modify components using various machine tools and work as part of a team to solve problems.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Process Development Engineer and liaise with customers on component specifications.
Requirements:
  • GCSE grade 9 to 5 in Maths, Science, and English.
  • Practical problem-solving skills and mechanical assembly aptitude.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels and work independently or as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn and take instructions, and ability to manage own time and meet deadlines.
