Second Charge Mortgage Underwriter/Advisor

This role involves underwriting loan applications and advising clients to ensure they receive the best mortgage offers and rates suited to their circumstances, while maintaining compliance.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Underwrite incoming loan applications based on credit history, client circumstances, and searches.
  • Utilize in-depth knowledge of lender underwriting criteria to match client needs with the right lender.
  • Calculate loan repayments according to the client's income.
  • Provide advised sales based on a detailed understanding of the client's financial situation.
  • Support team members as needed.
Requirements:
  • Education: A-level or equivalent.
  • Qualification: CeMAP (essential).
  • Experience: Proven success in a similar high-pressure, target-driven environment.
  • Skills:
  • Strong telephone communication.
  • Ability to interpret and analyze financial data.
  • Organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Experience with complex underwriting procedures.
  • Excellent IT proficiency and experience in a regulated environment.

  • Enjoy working with clients and explaining complex criteria.
  • Target-driven, competitive, and results-oriented.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt working hours for goal achievement.

Work Schedule:
  • Monday to Wednesday: 9am to 7pm (on a rotational basis).
  • Thursday: 9am to 6:30pm.
  • Friday: 9am to 5:30pm.
  • No weekend work.
