Field Service Engineer needed. Our client is a prominent player in the Energy Generation sector. They are seeking to hire a Field Service Engineer in Scotland due to the expansion of their operations.


Field Service Engineer Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily activities of gas fields, flares, plants, and generators at designated locations to ensure compliance and optimal safe electrical output.
  • Conduct maintenance on all mechanical, thermal, and electrical equipment utilized in landfill gas operations (training and competency provided).
  • Provide 24/7 emergency response for generator failures.
  • Adhere to Health & Safety and Environmental protocols, ensuring all procedures are followed.
  • Utilize and comply with the company’s operational and maintenance guidelines, documentation, and inventory management systems.
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on all mechanical, thermal, and electrical equipment, including pumps and motors.
  • Manage spare parts ordering and inventory control.
  • Monitor gas fields, including maintenance and repairs.
  • Conduct aftercare and flare maintenance for contracted landfill sites.
  • Uphold the company’s reputation by maintaining a clean and organized site at all times.
  • Minimize unnecessary costs by leveraging skills and tools available within the company, reducing dependence on external contractors.
  • Assist in the commissioning of generator sets and the acceptance of units during the transition to operations.
  • Operate within the framework of the company’s Health & Safety and quality assurance systems.
  • Commit to ongoing training to enhance knowledge and skills related to environmental stewardship and materials management.
  • Conduct air emissions assessments.
  • Address spill incidents using pollution prevention measures.
  • Complete outstanding tasks identified during site audits.
  • Collaborate with Landfill site Operations Management.

Field Service Engineer Qualifications
  • Experience in mechanical, thermal, electrical, or landfill gas disciplines.
  • Prior experience with Landfill Gas and/or generators is a plus.
  • Gas safe certification is advantageous.
  • Proficient in computer applications.
  • Possess a full UK driving license for manual vehicles.

Field Service Engineer Compensation
  • Salary: £33,671 with an OTE of £40k
  • 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday
  • Company Vehicle provided
  • Holiday Entitlement: 25 days plus 8 bank holidays
  • Private Healthcare coverage
  • Pension plan included
