A leading manufacturer of radiators for the power generation industry, Wabtec UK Ltd is seeking a skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join its team in Northampton.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will work closely with the Operations team to develop, verify, and validate new and existing manufacturing processes, ensuring the company's ability to service the heat transfer and engine cooling market.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Implement new processes in line with the company's change management system, ensuring all necessary documents and equipment are available, and training has been provided to production staff.
  2. Collaborate with Team Leaders to monitor and analyze Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), driving continuous improvement projects to sustain and enhance them.
  3. Apply data-driven and root cause analysis tools to resolve manufacturing problems.
  4. Embed lean manufacturing and kaizen principles throughout the manufacturing processes.
  5. Determine production times, resource requirements, and costs.
  6. Work with the Maintenance department to ensure production equipment is properly maintained.
Requirements:

Relevant manufacturing or engineering degree preferred, or equivalent qualifications such as A Levels, ONC, City & Guilds level 3, BTEC National Diploma Level 3, IVQ Technician Diploma, or NVQ level 3 qualification.

Experience with FMEA, Kaizen/A3, and Poka Yoke techniques, as well as understanding of design and production costs, including waste, downtime, scrap, and rework.

Proven project management skills and legal authorization to work in the UK.
