We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Therapeutic Mentor to join our team at The Platform Project. As a Therapeutic Mentor, you will play a vital role in supporting young people aged 11-18 to improve their mental health and well-being.
About the RoleAs a Therapeutic Mentor, you will be responsible for providing one-to-one mentoring to young people, focusing on those referred from Swindon and surrounding areas. You will meet weekly with your mentees, helping them to articulate and discuss their challenges and goals, and supporting them to process their experiences and develop emotional awareness and behavioral responses.
Key Responsibilities- Provide 1:1 mentoring to young people aged 11-18, focusing on those referred from Swindon and surrounding areas.
- Meet weekly with your mentees, helping them to articulate and discuss their challenges and goals.
- Support young people to process their experiences and develop emotional awareness and behavioral responses.
- Update our student tracker system with key activities, observations, and progress after every session.
- A strong sense of self-awareness and emotional intelligence.
- The ability to be fun, patient, flexible, and supportive while holding firm boundaries.
- A solid commitment to working with young people with diverse needs and backgrounds.
- Strong relationship and rapport-building skills with a range of stakeholders.
- A deep understanding of safeguarding and risk management while working with vulnerable young people.
We offer a flexible, part-time position with a competitive hourly rate of £20-25 per hour, depending on experience. You will have the opportunity to work with a dedicated team and make a real difference in the lives of young people.
